What's New for the 2009-2010 Season
Tournament Entry Fees Are Back!
We will set aside $250 per team to be used to pay team entries into either the BCA Open Series in Penticton or the CCS BC Championship in Penticton. Monies not used for team entries will be added to the end of season tournaments. See the regulations for details.
League Sanction Fees
Individual player fees for league sanctioning have gone up to $40 from last year’s $35. This is due to an increase from BCA of $5 US per player.
7:00 P.M. Start Time
Matches are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.for the 2009-10 season.
Player Cap:
The average player last year had a rating of 8.956. With this in mind, we will institute a cap of five times that or 45 points for a team's playing roster on any given night. If a team has a lineup of more than 45 points, they will be penalized as outlined in the handicap section below.
Handicap:
The handicap will be calculated the same way as the 2008-2009 season with the addition of the following: Seven points will be added to the calculated handicap if a team has a total count of 46-50 points for a given round. If a team has a total of over 50 points, fourteen points will be added to the calculated handicap. If both teams are between 46 and 50 points or if both teams are over 50 points, then nothing is added to the calculated handicap. If one team is over 50 points and the other team has 46-50 points, then seven points will be added to the calculated handicap.
Runouts:
Runouts are now defined as running the table either on the break or the shot immediately following the break. Break and runs will not be counted against the losing player, however, if a player has a dry break or fouls on the break and then the opponent runs out, that will be counted against the losing player.
